Harriet Lazarus, LICSW, C-ASWCM

Harriet has worked exclusively with older adults and their families for 18+ years, with experience as a nursing home mental health clinician, and as a social worker in hospital and rehabilitation settings. Earlier in her career, she worked in family services, child welfare, and behavioral health, where she also encountered the needs of older adults and their families. Her interest in this work goes back to her first-year field placement, when she had a wonderful experience making friendly visits to an older woman in Arlington. She has never forgotten her.

Harriet brings extensive clinical experience to her work as a care manager, along with a calm, thoughtful approach. A good listener and creative thinker, she offers useful advice and information while respecting the perspectives of everyone involved. Her training as a mediator, including additional training in elder and family mediation, is especially valuable when families are navigating complicated situations. She also believes a good sense of humor can help along the way.

Harriet is a nationally certified care manager (C-ASWCM) and a member of NASW and the national and New England chapters of the Aging Life Care Association®. She has served on the Board of the New England chapter as Education Chair and as a Member-at-Large.
