Susan Cote, LMHC, CMC

Susan has worked with older adults and their families since moving to Boston in 2000, following graduate school. Her interest in the field began during a college internship at a senior center, where she discovered how much she genuinely enjoyed working with older adults. She holds a BS in Psychology, an MSEd in Mental Health Counseling, and a CAGS in Counseling Psychology.

Throughout her career, Susan has supported older adults through community mental health, caregiver support, assisted living, and care management. Her expertise includes Medicare and MassHealth, benefit programs, and helping clients and families understand housing and senior living options that best meet their needs. A certified SHINE Counselor, Susan also brings extensive experience educating and guiding families as they navigate long-term services and supports.

Susan believes strongly in each client’s right to self-determination. Her communication style helps clients feel respected, understood, and valued, while giving families the information and guidance they need to make informed decisions.

Susan is a nationally certified Care Manager (CMC) and a member of both the national and New England chapters of the Aging Life Care Association. Outside of work, she enjoys exercising, baking, gardening, and spending time with her dog and cat.
