Helping people living with dementia stay connected to the people, activities, and experiences that bring meaning and enjoyment to everyday life.

Introducing The Good Moments Consultation

Living with dementia can make it harder to stay engaged in meaningful activities and experiences. Families may notice the person they care about becoming withdrawn or losing interest in activities they once enjoyed.

The Good Moments Consultation helps the person living with dementia and their family find practical ways to foster connection, purpose, and enjoyment.

Is the Person You Care About Becoming Withdrawn or Disengaged?

You may be noticing:

Why Meaningful Engagement Matters in Dementia Care

Meaningful engagement is not about staying busy. It is about helping a person continue to participate in activities, relationships, and routines that reflect who they are. Engagement looks different for every person.

For one individual, it may involve music, art, gardening, or conversation. For another, it may be helping with familiar household routines, spending time outdoors, reminiscing, or participating in community programs.

When activities are tailored to a person's interests, strengths, and abilities, they can support:

  • Greater connection with family and friends
  • Increased confidence and participation
  • More opportunities for enjoyment
  • A stronger sense of purpose
  • More positive daily experiences

Even as dementia progresses, meaningful engagement remains possible.

What to Expect

Most consultations take place over one to three visits. During that time, families receive individualized guidance, tailored recommendations, coaching, and information about tools, programs, and resources that may support meaningful engagement. Consultations address the needs of both the person living with dementia AND the people who care about them, with practical strategies that fit into everyday life.
