Danielle Elyath, LICSW

Danielle earned her MSW from Boston College with a concentration in older adults and has experience in senior housing, inpatient geriatric psychiatry, and working with adults with developmental disabilities. She has also advocated for individuals in long-term care through the Long Term Care Ombudsman Program in Massachusetts and New York and co-facilitates the JF&CS Balancing Act, a monthly support and discussion group for adults coping with a parent’s dementia.

Drawn to older adults from an early age through close relationships with her grandparents and extended family, she brings warmth and a natural ability to connect to her work. Families have described her as feeling like another member of the family. Her goal is to take on the often-overwhelming coordination and details of care so loved ones can spend more time focusing on their relationships.

A strong connection to her Jewish identity and knowledge of Jewish culture, traditions, and the Greater Boston Jewish community also help her support older adults who want to remain connected to their faith and community as they age. She believes care management should be flexible, providing as much or as little support as a family needs while drawing on the collective expertise of the Your Elder Experts team.

A nationally certified care manager (C-ASWCM), she is a member of NASW and the national and New England chapters of the Aging Life Care Association®, where she serves on the Program and Conference Committees for the New England chapter.

Outside of work, she enjoys knitting, reading, and riding her bike around Cape Cod.

What I Wish Families Knew

Care management can be as much or as little as your family needs, every situation is different. Sometimes that means guidance and recommendations about what to do next. Other times, it means having someone help put those recommendations into action.
